Srinagar, Jan 30 (KNO): The JSW Foundation is set to take up multiple initiatives to develop Kashmir’s world-famous ski resort—Gulmarg—into a world-class skiing and holiday destination.
Sajjan Jindal, Chairman of JSW Group, met with the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah.
According to the details collected by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Sajjan, who met with the CM, wrote on his X handle, “had a great meeting with Omar Abdullah, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir. We discussed the development of Gulmarg along with the ski slopes to make it a world-class destination for skiing and holidays. The JSW Group will take up various initiatives through the JSW Foundation.”
Similarly, located about 51 km from Srinagar, Gulmarg remains a key attraction for winter sports enthusiasts and is also set to host the Khelo India Winter Games 2025 from February 22 to 25, featuring over 1,000 athletes in events like alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, and snowboarding.
Moreover, CM Omar also highlighted his discussions with industry leaders at the MICE event, aiming to harness Jammu and Kashmir’s potential across multiple sectors.
“At the MICE event in Mumbai, showcased Jammu & Kashmir’s boundless opportunities—where adventure, culture, and pristine landscapes converge! Our vision? Value-driven tourism: Preserving ecology, celebrating heritage, and prioritizing immersive experiences over volume,” the office of the Chief Minister, J&K, wrote on X.
It reads as, J&K isn’t just ‘heaven on earth’—it’s India’s all-season gateway to wonder.
